We are a RIBA Chartered practice based in Offham, Kent led by Sarah Hales-Marshall and Rob Hales. We work on projects throughout Kent and South London specialising in residential projects of all scales. Our work covers new build, listed properties, small extensions and renovations to major refurbishments and retro-fit.
We are passionate about design and exploring ideas to create exciting and engaging spaces. Our focus is not on the size or type of project but to enhance and enrich each individual scheme.
Sarah founded the company in 2010. After working in award-winning studios across London, we moved to Kent in 2015 and re-established hmda. We have vast experience in the local authorities, planning and listed building applications, building regulations. We are committed to good, healthy sustainable design. We work collaboratively with local consultants, fellow professionals and with our clients to support each other and share ideas.
We are a proud to be a Chartered practice of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Sarah is also the Chair of the West Kent Branch of the RIBA and Rob is the treasurer. We strongly believe architecture is a learning experience. We work closely with the University of Kent and UCA Canterbury, supporting students participating in the RIBA student mentoring scheme.
